Day in the Purbecks - 28th September 2009

We had some friends, called Lynne & Phil, staying with us this weekend - they come from a place called New Zealand...I don't know where that is but I think it must be further away than even France!!! On Monday, we took them on some of our favourite walks in the Purbecks. First of all we went to see Old Harry...I don't know where Old Harry was but I did smell loads of rabbits & pheasants which was good!! Then we went to a place called Worth Matravers & had a drink at something called a "pub"...I was only allowed water from an old plastic box...they had stuff called beer & cider which smelt much nicer but I wasn't allowed any! Finally we went to Durlston Country Park and had a walk along the cliff path - there were lots of hills and, as usual, I got to the top first every time!!!

New Forest Viz Whizz - 27th September 2009

Indy's Mum & Dad (Uncle Roger & Aunty Gail!!!) organised a walk for us Vizzies last Sunday. So 11 o'clock saw me (& Mum & Dad of course!) at Fritham in the New Forest for a brilliant Whizz with my mates. We had a really good time running through the forest and we even managed a cooling swim in the stream. One of the best bits was meeting up with my sister, Maple, who I haven't seen since we were about 6 months old. Here we are sitting next to each other...I'm the one on the left - I was doing a bit of "talking" as I didn't really want to sit still!!

It was also really good to see my litter-mate Rudh Kai again - now that he's persuaded his Mum & Dad to come home to England I'm hoping we can see lots more of each other! Even though he's not, I think of Kai as my brother - to explain, Kai's Mum, Edie, is my half-sister, so I guess that really makes him my nephew...even though he's only 2 days younger than me...weird!!!!

And, guess what...lucky Kai's now got a little brother called Rudh Maw - he's very cute though he's got really sharp teeth as I found out when he tried to nibble my ear...I didn't really mind & gave him a tummy lick to show him that I would be his mate!!

Here's a few more photos of our walk...enjoy!

Whoopie...Dad's Home!

At last Dad's come home...Mum arranged to meet him at Kings Park but she didn't tell me that!!

I think she was being a bit of a tease coz when we went out on our walk it was just me & her. Then, all of a sudden, she said "where's John, find him"...I looked round everywhere but couldn't see him...but then I heard a whistle...and THERE HE WAS at the other side of the playing field. You should have seen me run...and then...well just look at the Smilebox - I reckon you'll get the idea...!

Me and Indy

Today Indy came to my house to play. His Mum & Dad (Gail & Roger) were going to a boat show but dogs weren't allowed - I was pleased bout that coz it meant me & Indy could play ALL day...which is just what we did!!

In the picture above, I'm the one with the black collar...Indy's got his "arm" round me...ah!!!

We did manage to squeeze in a couple of walks though! I reckon we'll both sleep well tonight...!

We went back to St. Catherine's Hill this morning...I was in a contemplative mood!!! Though, when Dad saw this Smilebox he reckoned some treats were involved...whatever gave him that idea?!!

14th September 2009

I made a new friend today! Mum took me for a walk to Hengistbury Head...it was really sunny & I had a great time running through the gorse & heather searching for rabbits. It was almost time to go when I saw another vizzie in the distance...guess what I did? You're right...headed right towards him!! His name's Red & he lives really close to Hengistbury Head so gets to walk there most days...lucky him! His Mum & Dad are called Margaret & Terry - my Mum has asked them to come along to the next Viz Whizz on the 27th...hope they can make it coz Red doesn't know many other vizzies & I'm sure he'd have a brilliant time!!

12th & 13th September 2009

My mate Amber came & stayed the night with me on the 12th - we had 2 great walks together on Saturday...one to the River Stour at Throop & one to St Catherine's Hill. Then, on Sunday, we met Indy (& his Dad, Roger) at Mill Lawn in the New Forest...we all had a really good time - Mum & Roger were throwing balls & sticks for us to fetch...Amber was the best fetcher ever!

17th August 2009

Oh dear, my Dad went to San Francisco yesterday...for FIVE weeks - don't know what we're going to do without him...miss him already! I didn't really believe that he'd gone when I woke up this morning so I had to do a check around the house:

1) Went round to his side of the bed...not there!
2) Went in the bathroom...not there either!
3) Stood outside the downstairs toilet & pawed at the door...nope, no response!

And finally

4) Went outside to the summer house (Dad's office), sat on the step whined until Mum came out & opened the door to show me that he wasn't there either!!!

8th July 2009

Today, Mum & Dad took me to the dog beach at Sandbanks...I went swimming &, believe it or not...they came in the water with me!!!

May 2009

In May I did all the usual things like go for walks in the forest, by the river & on the beach. On the 10th, we had a great walk at High Corner, in the New Forest...Mum & Dad thought it all looked very pretty with the bluebells coming out & the new leaves on the trees!!

I also lots of quality time with Dad...just doing boy stuff!

Then, at the end of May, I had my most embarrassing moment! Mum took me to a dog show (the Bath Canine Society Show to be exact) - well, you've probably guessed by now that I don't do standing still & what are you supposed to do at a dog show...stand still!!!! We won't be doing that again!!!

I soon forgave Mum coz straight after the show we zoomed back to Bournemouth for me to go to my first regular Agility class...wow, that was more like it...SO MUCH MORE ME!!!

February, March & April 2009

After our fantastic holiday we returned home with a bump...well actually with a slide!! When we got back to England we were faced with, guess what, SNOW - however, unlike in France where everyone just carries on as normal, here everything comes to a standstill - it took us hours & hours to get home! But it was great the next day to be able to run through snow in the New Forest!

It also was great to be home & I immediately sat on my favourite place!!!

The rest of February & March passed really quickly with me doing what vizzies do best...run, play, sniff, eat etc. etc.!! I got to meet my mate Indy most days for walks in the forest & I also went swimming in the River Stour most days too. Mum & Dad said that I had to get fit & loose a bit of weight - unfortunately, I'd got a bit porky when I was having those horrid fit things! So far, toes crossed, the pills seem to be working & I haven't had any more since I started taking them.

At the end of April I went to, yet another, Viz Whizz - this time we went to a place called Mill Lawn...it was great...loads of space to run, places to sniff & a stream to paddle or swim in...what more could a vizzie ask for!

January 2009

Wow...what a brilliant month this was! Dad took Mum & me to France for a whole MONTH...weren't we the spoilt ones!! We stayed in my mate Charlie's Grandad's apartment in a little town called Chapelle d'Abondance which is in the Alps on the French/Swiss border. We went & played in the snow everyday - it took me a while to get used to it coz, to start with, I couldn't work out why if I jumped or ran on it, I disappeared...I quickly learnt to tip-toe!!! Sometimes Mum & Dad wore weird things on their feet called skis - they said it made it easier to go down the hills...couldn't understand that coz I could run down the hills no problem! There were some dogs that wore shoes - Mum said the dogs were Huskies & that they wore shoes coz they did loads of running & had to protect their pads. I reckon they weren't as tough as me coz I did loads of running too & I didn't have to wear wussie shoes...though Mum did rub some special wax into my pads to keep them soft! Mum & Dad took LOADS of pictures - I've just chosen some of the bestest ones for you to look at:

December 2008

Apart from Christmas, which was great...Nan Iris came to stay & we had some brilliant walks on the beach & in the New Forest - December wasn't the best month!

I kept having those "fit" things & they were happening more & more often so Mum & Dad took me to see a special doctor (called a Neurologist). He said that the place in my head where the French Heartworm had been was still acting as a site for my fits...he called it Secondary Epilepsy which meant that it was all the worms fault. He said I could take some special pills which would, hopefully, stop the fits happening and that if they didn't happen for a year I would probably be all well again...I really hope so coz the fits really cramp my style! I'm keeping all 16 toes crossed that the pills work!

30th November 2008 - Queens Park Golf Course!

Before you ask...yes, I am allowed to walk/run on the golf course as long as I "give-way" to golfers taking their shots - though it is easier if they give way to us dogs! What, I think, I'm not supposed to do is run through the bunkers...oh dear...too late - I'll just have to make sure Mum & Dad know how to handle a rake!!!

29th November 2008 - Vizagility Day

My Mum's mate, Cath, arranged this gomsmackingly fantabulous agility day...the bestest of bestest days...please organise another one soon Aunty Cath! I'd never done agility before (though Mum said she'd been trying to find somewhere near home to go...she must try harder!) & I just LOVED it!! And, even better, I won 2 rosettes & one of them was for being "the most improved beginner"!

18th to 22nd November 2008

Thanks to Charlie & Radio's parents, we found this brilliant dog-friendly cottage on a working sheep farm in a place called Wasdale in the Lake District...perfect!! If anybody's interested, there's a website you can look at: http://www.wasdaleweb.co.uk/framesets/framesetburnthwaite.html

There were really good long walks going up & down big hills & there was loads of great things to sniff & water too...what more could a vizzie ask for!! Coz I'd never been round sheep before Mum & Dad made wear my lead if there were any near us though I reckon sheep are pretty boring...they don't play or anything!
